Alliance for International
Educational & Cultural Exchange
An association of 78 nongovernmental organizations comprising the international educational
and cultural exchange community in the United States. Founded in 1993 after a merger
of the International Exchange Association and the Liaison Group for International
Educational Exchange, the Alliance serves as the only collective public policy voice
of the exchange community. Its mission is to formulate and promote public policies
that support the growth and well-
EF stands for “Education First.” With a mission to break down barriers in language, culture and geography, EF has helped more than 15 million people of all ages and nationalities become citizens of the world. Cultural exchanges, educational travel, language training and degree programs — we put education first.
The U.S. Peace Corps
Traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. Since that time, 200,000+ Peace Corps Volunteers have served in 139 host countries to work on issues ranging from AIDS education to information technology and environmental preservation. Today's Peace Corps is working in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development, and contributing to AIDS Relief.
